I know, I know – a blogpost with words defeats the purpose of “Wordless Wednesday.” It’s just we are so excited to announce our pregnancy and I can’t be totally shushed into a wordless mommy today! Baby Schmidt is shown here at almost 15 weeks. Big sister Lucy (who turns three on September 1) came with me, really enjoyed seeing the baby on the monitor, and even received her very own picture of the baby to take home.
Shown below, baby is positioned to the left, facing up, spine clearly visible with his/her little feet at the top (and we won’t be finding out the gender, so take your best guess). I am feeling great; the baby is absolutely healthy and beautiful! We request prayers for a continued peaceful and safe pregnancy.
A special thanks to the director and staff at Informed Choices Medical Clinic in Des Moines for their excellent medical care, love, and prayers. Contrary to contemporary thinking, love and prayers can be found at a medical clinic, and it was quite comforting to end my ultrasound appointment in prayer. The clinic provides medical care to women experiencing crisis pregnancies, but please know I’m not labeled “in crisis” by any measure. The baby and I simply served as models for the staff to continue perfecting their ultrasound skills.
I am so impressed with the good work the clinic is performing and ask that you remember them in your prayers and with donations as able. If you know a woman experiencing a crisis pregnancy in the greater Des Moines or Iowa City areas, please provide her with the clinic’s information.
