Today Only! “Bring Peace to Your Home” Advent Giveaway

What better way to bring peace to your home during Advent than with sacred Advent music and a simple Advent daily devotional?

Advent at Ephesus

They are young. They are hidden. They are extremely musical. And now they have a worldwide album distribution deal. But they don’t set foot beyond northwest Missouri’s rolling farmland. Why? Because they are contemplative sisters who live an austere yet joyful life set apart from the world.

Just a few short weeks ago, the priory of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, became a modern, high-tech recording studio for three days. The world can now hear the fruits of that transformation as De Montfort Music/Decca releases Advent at Ephesus. The 16-track CD includes many of the sisters’ favorite Advent hymns including an original composition.

Advent at Ephesus represents a rare approach — one that focuses on music celebrating the quiet, introspective anticipation of the Nativity that is the foundation of the Advent season. Early reviews suggest it could be one of the surprise hits of the year. Preorders have poured in, and the CD is tracking in Amazon’s Classical Music top 10 for almost two weeks.

O Radiant Dawn

O Radiant Dawn, a new book by Lisa Hendey, represents another opportunity to purposefully slow down and soak up the graces of the Advent Season. Organized as a daily prayer book, it is intended for use around an Advent wreath in any Catholic household. The book contains twenty-eight devotional services, each designed to last only five minutes — an achievable goal for busy families. Rooted in scriptural images of light, O Radiant Dawn can be used year after year.

Both sound wonderful!! Chances of the first comment winning are pretty slim, but someone has to start it off, right? Will try to listen to your interview online next week!

I would love to win this wonderful contest to help my family, especially my children(8,4,2 1/2) draw closer to the Holy Family through music + prayers during this glorious Advent season. All 3 of my children are on the Autism spectrum and they all LOVE music. I have also been searching for a book to be our companion on this Advent during the Year of Faith. Blessings!

OH! I would LOVE both of these for our Advent celebration! I was not raised Catholic (but finished my training before I married my husband) so I am always struggling on how to Celebrate! My hubby, who WAS raised Catholic, doesn’t remember much, sigh. So not only am I trying to Celebrate, but make it meaningful and rememberable. I think this set would do that nicely!

This is excellent! While I definitely want both for our house, these will definitely be added to my “gifts for my mother-in-law” list, too! Awesome. Thanks for sharing! :)

Pick me, pick me!! This order isn’t the same as the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, MO, is it? I’ve been there and it’s beautiful.

  9. Ann says

Great job, as always, Lisa! I also like the Little Books from the Diocese of Saginaw. Advent, Lent, and Easter in managable sections.

A friend was just looking for Advent music, I’d love to pass the cd along to her and keep the book for myself if I won.
