The Easter Vigil Mass that Required a Great Paschal Candle Transplant

Alleluia! He is risen!

We had the opportunity to attend a most beautiful Easter Vigil Mass in Washington, Iowa (population 7,266) last Saturday when my sister-in-law Amanda entered into full Communion with the Catholic Church. My mom served as her sponsor, and the whole family welcomes Amanda into the Church with a great big group hug. Amanda celebrated the sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist, and she and my brother Chad also celebrated the validation of their marriage (Joel and I were honored to serve as witnesses).
