1. I frequently wish for that…how did you put it?…holy leisure. I am continually beating myself up for letting myself and the kids be too busy to get it. But then every so often I think, “You have four kids. They’re young. They need a lot from you. There is no such thing at this stage of life.” Round pegs and square holes, indeed.

  2. Great article. I have often times felt guilty I didn’t home school because I see the results in the home school families I know. But if I am honest about it, I don’t think I would have been cut out for it either. Being a wife and mother is clearly the most important and satisfying role in my life, and I had a tremendous amount of fun raising my kids, but I don’t think I could have handled kids 24/7. I had to have alone time, and adult time without kids to be the mom I wanted to be.

    In the circles you run in, it takes courage and humility to be able to say it ain’t for you.
