About Lisa

Cradle Catholic, wife, mother, proud Iowan, sports enthusiast, and talk radio junkie who’s fueled by prayer and a mug of dark roast coffee by her side.

On my First Holy Communion, May 1984

I am a lifelong Catholic with a heart for improving the quality of life for families. I earned a Bachelor of Family Services and Master of Public Administration from Iowa State University, and worked as an assistant city manager in the Des Moines metro area before “retiring” to come home and care for our children. I have since steadily immersed myself in the work of the new evangelization as well as founding The Well, a nonprofit women’s group based out of Des Moines rooted in faith, friendship, and fun.

Additionally, I have worked with Iowa Catholic Radio serving as past co-host for “Catholic Women Now” and “In the Heartland with Bishop Pates,” a weekly hour-long radio show airing on both Iowa Catholic Radio and Spirit Catholic Radio Network. I am sought as a speaker and radio guest on a variety of topics including motherhood, spiritual friendships, and family spirituality. Interested in having me speak for your event? Head over to our Speakers’ Page here. I am also a contributing author for the CatholicMom.com Daily Meditation book published by Ave Maria Press.
